OA2produce is OA International’s comprehensive S-88 compliant batch control, recipe execution, and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking system. This system uses the power of OAenterprise to enable real-time control and monitoring for batch manufacturing environments. OA2produce utilizes a highly advanced object-based and open architecture that is highly distributed with a user-friendly graphical user interface.

In summary, OA2produce provides:

• Integration of factory-floor production data with enterprise level systems, such as ERP, MRP and APS.
• An IEC 61131-3-compliant Sequential Function Chart (SFC) editor for easy recipe and batch creation and management.
• A library of objects that run under the Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) for recipe management, batch management, and production unit event and configuration management.
• Production events in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format with Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) employed for connectionless transport.
• A Microsoft SQL Server backend database, including support for SQL Server Express for small-scale operations.

OA2produce’s execution system is tailored for S88 compliance by providing:

• Integration of an S88 physical model as OAenterprise classes.
• Class-based recipes for the standard S88 levels: procedure, unit procedure, and operation
• Unit and equipment arbitration. Using a class-based recipe in automatic mode enables allocation of resources based on:
  - Equipment requirements defined for the recipe
  - Equipment properties in the area model
  - Real-time conditions on the plant-floor
• During batch execution, OA2produce ensures that the equipment is available and, if it is in use, does not allocate the unit to the batch until it is released by the previous batch.
